Organised mayhem...hopeless solution...mildly wild...

prom just ended

yesterday night was YJC's Prom 2005. it was supposed to be a happy night and well i guess it was. apart from the fact that we couldn't sit the way we wanted because they had halal and non-halal tables. mine was table 17. an all malay guy table. we made the most noise i guess. all in the name of fun. very nice. and there were 2 LIVE bands!
the girls were, let's just say, odd. some were looking very nice as compared to them being in uniform. some just couldn't make it work for themselves. mostly wore black dresses. BLACK. why black? i just don't get it. like as if there's no other colour. only the malay and indian girls had a majority wearing colours other than black. seeing the malay girls mostly wearing something not of the standard black dress thing, we at the all malay guys table felt like we were at some wedding. anybody want to propose? actually there was one. haha...it was the performer. that J1 malay rocker guy...not really sure what's his name. during one of his songs he went all the way to the back to give this girl flowers. and spent sometime there too. before he went back up front to continue singing. and as usual the malays at the back made a ruckus seeing what was happening. cool man.
the guys looked normal compared to what we were seeing from the girls. same looking guys just that we weren't wearing our uniforms. no one really stood out from the crowd. unless you count the white suit guy. maybe he did. not very common white suits. then there was trenchcoat man. haha...aka russian mafia given his size and attire. that was cool. he could have hidden an AK-47 in that thing.














the food for my table was just right. not too bad at all. slightly above wedding food quality. however the main course wasn't served properly if you asked me. they gave us the dishes but not spoon or ladle to use so we can put it on our plates. we ended up using our original spoons used before to take it. the guys didn't seem to care. and desserts. fruits on a big plate. before the waiters could put the forks and small plates on the table, we started eating with our hands already. slow lah the service. when we saw they gave utensils we stopped and used the forks pretending nothing happened.














after food they had the usual prom king & queen stuff and then the dance. left a bit earlier with Zhi Hao after he pestered me so much and didn't really go to the dance floor to check the scene out. heard from the rocker J1 that the dance floor was rather boring. lame songs it seems. maybe he wanted more of the slow songs for couple dances and not mass jam n hop style. and also the floor was freaking small. not exactly a dance floor if you ask me. sound system not good also. maybe because the council had no funds to go get a decent sound system for the prom. they used the ball room's speakers which were like ceiling PA speakers you find in shopping centers. lame shit man.
i prefer my anderson sec prom to this. the atmosphere was better. then again, in ASS we sat with the class and there were more ppl jumping around with BIG speakers.
